Ömer Kartın was born in Istanbul. Following his education in Galatasaray High School, he completed bachelor’s education at Boğaziçi University and master’s education at Marmara University. Working in the tourism sector for more than 30 years, Kartın works on gastronomy tourism for 20 years. Alakart Tourism, which is owned and managed by him for 15 years, deals with luxury segment (particularly gastronomy), MICE and B2B issues. Besides his Gastronomy Tourism Expertise Chairman duty at TÜRSAB, he also attended various workshops related with gastronomy at Bologna, Bordeaux, Bilbao and Glasgow. Kartın, who has founded various NGOs, performing their management affairs, fluently speaking French and English, is married and father of 2 children.
