She is from Diyarbakır. She graduated from Faculty of Business Administration -METU. She worked in a defense Industry company operating in Ankara, for 3 years. She brought many food and beverage brands to Ankara in many different concepts, between 1993 and 2005, while while there are little to no examples in Ankara yet. In 2007, she established the BigChefs Cafe-Brasserie brand in line with its bank loan and forward-looking payment plans. Today, BigChefs has reached 65 branches and 2900 employees in 7 countries.
Besides BigChefs’s growth goals; Gamze Cizreli focused on social responsibility projects especially in recent years. She was one of first Turkish women entrepreneurs who had an occasion to speak at the United Nations General Assembly with the project “From the Land of Women to the Table”.
She is making great efforts to achieve these goals by developing various projects for the United Nations’ Sustainable Goals of 2030, 2. Hunger, 5. Gender Equality, 12. Responsible Production, Consumption 13. Climate Change.
Gamze Cizreli occasionally gives lectures on “Entrepreneurship” at METU Business Faculty as well as restaurant management. She has written gourmet and travel articles in various magazines and newspapers.
She won the first “Woman Entrepreneur” in Turkey award in 2010, at the contest organized by KAGIDER and supported by Garanti Bank . In 2011, 2013 and 2017, she was awarded with the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” awards in the “Business People of the Year” contests organized by Ekonomist Magazine. She is actively working in various non-governmental organizations, especially KAGİDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association) and TURYİD (Turkish Restaurant & Entertainment Association).
She mother of two sons.
